Rennes beated PSG with a penalty shootout victory on Saturday night. Rennes did am amazing comeback from two goals down after Kylian Mbappe was sent off for a really dangerous kick on Damien Da Silva’s knee.
It allowed Ben Arfa to win the trophy in front of Les Parisiens chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who he had a lot of problems with PSG during his two years at the club.
Joining on a free transfer from Nice in 2016, after he was playing at Newcastle on London, but he failed to meet expectations in the first season before being sold the following year.
When going up to collect his winners medal, Ben Arfa talk to Al-Khelaifi who did not want to shake his hand with him, before appearing to do it and quickly moving on to the next Rennes player.
Speaking after the game, Ben Arfa highlighted what he received a really bad treatment at PSG.
He also joked about the famous comeback of Barcelona against PSG, namely the famous “remontada”, the 6-1 comeback that they suffered at Barcelona in 2017.
